From sketch to reality: a modern and strong UpRight Standing Desk

The best stories start quietly. So is the history of a product designed, drawn, tested and made with passion.

Two of them yesterday, another one today…and so it started. More and more colleagues were complaining about back and leg pain. Each day was exhausting for them. Intrigued, one of us started looking for more information about this issue. We found out that we need at least 30 minutes of exercise daily, at work. And this is how it took shape the idea of creating something healthy, meant to improve the wellbeing of our colleagues.

Standing straight in front of an UpRight Standing Desk only a small part of a day, you will be able to do squats and even push-ups while working. The breakthrough is that you don’t have to sit in a chair all day. But also don’t stand all day. Moderation is the key. Alternating, you can switch from the office chair, to the UpRight Standing Desk.

This is how we realized that the UpRight Standing Desk can be a successful product . We created a multidisciplinary team and developed a design. We talked to physiotherapists and fitness trainers.

Often, what seems simple gives you the most headaches, we ran into many problems, but after a lot of work, sketches and prototypes we created the UpRight Standing Desk.
